History Of Modesto campus

The Modesto campus began in 1986 when Lenore Hughes founded Computer Tutor in Modesto, California. The school originally focused on helping children improve reading, comprehension, and math skills. In 1989, the institution expanded to offer computer software training and clerical programs for adults. Accounting programs followed in 1992.

In 1997, R. George Rawe became Director of the institution, and in 1998 he became Director and Owner. During that time, the school added medical and computer technical programs to meet growing workforce demands.

As program offerings expanded, the institution changed its name to Computer Tutor Business & Technical Institute in July 2002. The school earned accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) in March 2003. In February 2014, the Modesto campus relocated to its current location on Sisk Road.

On August 1, 2017, Stellar Career College became the new owner of the institution under the leadership of President and CEO Zulfiqar A. Satti. Since then, the college has continued to grow, opening a second campus in Chicago, Illinois in 2020 and a third campus in Crown Point, Indiana in 2023.
